The Barwest show is officially UP! As an added bonus, it will be on display for June & July…so now you have no reason to miss it. Stop by and be sure to make it upstairs to view some of the new work that Japaints has been coming out with.

Come out on your 2nd Saturday stroll and visit the new home of the Japaints laboratories. We will be hosting a public event around 8 pm with bands, dj’s, art and…..and…..and FUN!

It is official…Japaints will be having a solo show at Barwest in June. The show will be up all month, but there will be no official opening. If you are around the area during the month, stop in and check out some more creations by doctorbove. I hope to run into you down there!

As you probably read in the previous post, the Japaints lab is moving to a new headquarters! I have been painting and preparing the space this weekend to get working in there as soon as possible. It’s almost ready! I am going back to do a bit of work today, and by next week…full steam ahead!!! We’ll be bringing a show to you real soon, and also plans are in the works for either a Barwest or Blue Cue show in June.

Well, we are moving on up! Japaints will have a new global headquarters come May 1st, 2012. I have signed a year lease on a studio space on 10th Street (between J and K Streets) in downtown Sacramento. I am super excited to have a new space to bring to life with art, and get to work in close quarters with the one and only, Nicholas Wray. We will be sharing a cooperative working environment with photography, clothing, and artwork…not to mention, a wealth of 2nd Saturday showcases. EXCITING!
Speaking of art, there is a great show right now at Broadacre Coffee, where the old Temple Coffee was…1014 10th St. It is a showing of photos by Nicholas Wray, and includes a collaborative effort with yours truly. Get over there and enjoy a healthy serving of espresso and let your senses ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ over the display of local talent!
Constant Clothing Company is an up and coming apparel company with a headquarters here in Sacramento. They specialize in rock climbing and technical boutique-influenced outerwear for the everyday adventures that life has to offer.
In current news, they have also offered up an opportunity for Japaints to collaborate on a t-shirt project! The project focuses on ‘climbers who create’ and will be available to the public in the next few months. Naturally, it is exciting to be a part of such an interesting project with such great people, and I look forward to many more chances to work with them on future endeavors!
There will be a Kickstarter time-lapse video of the whole thing coming soon too!! Stay tuned for more details. Big thanks to Craig McKinnon and Nicholas Wray for all the help!
